Background:
The Velveteen Lop is a very new breed, with not very many breeders, throught the U.S.A. They seem to be very hard to find. The originator's of the breed Mary Crawford & David Kabela(both of Texas), have been working on the breed for several years. Mary's first litter was born June of 1994. She did not sell any stock until the ARBA convention in KY in 1999.

General Description:

They look much like an English Lop only smaller with rex fur. They are a small to medium sized breed with very long lopped ears, a character of an English lop, only shorter. They have very soft rex(velvet) fur, like a Mini Rex or Rex breed. They have a good temperament, like to be cuddled & seem to enjoy human contact.
